Train Spotting at Brighton Train Care Depot
1 November 2007
Comet the Harris Hawk has been visiting Brighton Train Care Depot, to deter feral pigeons from the main train shed. The programme started with an intensive presence of five visits in the first week, followed in the second week by three visits, and in the third week by two visits. This intensive programme enabled A & M Hawk UK to gain control of the site.
We then implemented a reduced management programme of weekly visits to ensure that the site remained off-limits to pigeons. Comet and his friends were, in fact, so successful in scaring out the pigeons from the main train shed that they were then asked to cover the old bus depot as well.
